The Change Part 1

Edrian’s POV

Tired from work again. Buti na lang restday na bukas at makapagpahinga na naman ang walang kapagurang katawang lupa ko. I’m Edrian Villapez, 25 years old, chinito, maputi, 5’9” ang height and well-built ang katawan. Kasalukuyang nagtatrabaho bilang customer service representative sa isang BPO company dito sa Cebu. Simple lang naman ang life ko. I’m staying with my mom and dad and I’m the only child. My parents are both PNP retirees and they are running a small sari-sari store adjacent to our house.

I was about to lay down on my bed and go to sleep when I remembered that my friend will be coming home to the Philippines tommorow from the States. He is my bestfriend. His name is Cypress Velasco, 24 (well, I can’t describe his physical appreance right now because it’s been 8 years that I haven’t seen him since we graduated from High School).

Flashback

 Way back then, He was one of the most popular guys in the campus. Sino ba ang di mabibghani sa isang tall, dark and handsome na varsity player pa at more on academics pa. Hindi lang yan, he became the Campus Olive C hearthrob namin dito sa Cebu that time at nakatanggap ng offers for modelling pero tinanggihan niya for the reason na gusto niyang magconcentrate sa school.

One time, may niligawan si Cypress na nerd girl, she is Kristel Melendres , ang valedictorian namin, she is simple at tinaguriang genius girl ng campus. Grabe, it’s been 2 years na niligawan ni Cypress si Kristel until the graduation day comes which Kristel promised that she will answer Cypress already. After the graduation rites and program, Kristel and Cypress talked about the panliligaw thing.

Cypress, I appreciate your effort and it’s been 2 years already that your courting me ------ , si Kristel na di pinatapos ni Cypress sa pagsasalita.

So, does it mean a Yes? (-_-) , si Cyrus na nagpipigil sa excitement niya.

Ahmm , Kuan Kasi., si Kristel na nag-aalangan.

So girlfriend na kita?, sigaw ni Cypress na nagbigay ng attention sa mga tao at pinagtitinginan na sila.

I’m sorry but I love your bestfriend Edrian, si Kristel na nahihiya sabay walk out.

>_<  O_O , si Cypress habang tinitingnan ang paalis na babae.

Ang sakit sakit bro! Siya lang ang babae for me, siya ang first love ko. I’ve never been like this in my entire life. Siya lang ang babaeng una at huling iibigin ko pero nagkagusto siya sayo bro, si Cypress na nagdadram.

(-_-) I’m sorry to hear that bro. Don’t worry, di ko naman type si Kristel at walang taluhan bro, diba?, si Edrian.

No bro! Don’t feel sorry about it, I’m letting her go and maybe I need to follow mom and dad in the States para naman maka move on ako sa pagreject ng pinakamamahal ko, si Cypress. Promise me bro, please don’t let anyone hurt my love and learn to love Kristel, I know you’ll be a very happy couple, dagdag ni Cypress.

O_O , bro? Akala ko ba sabay tayong mag-ienroll sa University na pinlano natin. Wag ka namang paapekto sa babae oh. Please don’t leave me bro and besides, wala naman akong gusto sa babaeng yun noh!, si Edrian.

Ang O.A mo bro! Para ka namang bakla diyan. Naiinlove ka sa akin noh? Joke lang. Hahaaha. I’ve made up my mind bro and it’s final, bestfriend pa rin naman kita ah and nothing will change kahit magkakalayo na tayo, mag-aaral lang ako dun and babalik rin ako dito sa Pinas. Di ko kasi gustong mawala sa mundo ng di ko makapiling bestfriend ko. But promise me bro, please don’t let anyone hurt Kristel. I’ll owe you so much for that., si Cypress.

O_O Hay! Sige na nga bro, kung di ka na mapipigilan pa, wala na tayong magagawa. So see you when you come back and I promise that no one will ever hurt your love and I’ll be her new protector. Promise yan bro, si Edrian.

End of flashback

Edrian’s POV

Yeah right! Ako na nga ang dakilang tagapagtanggol ng minamahal na babae ng bestfriend ko. At first, naiilang talaga ako kasi di ko kayang mapalapit kay Kristel at mainlove sa kanya kasi ayaw kong  masaktan na naman si bestfriend but 2 years after the graduation, Cypress told me that if I have feelings for Kristel, it’s time for me to court her since botong-boto daw siya sa akin para sa minamahal niya. So what happend is naging kami nga ni Kristel until now and we are in relationship for almost 6 years already. Marami na rin ang nagbago kay Kristel, she’s not the usual nerd girl anymore. She became one of the hottest runway and print ad model here in Cebu and isang title holder ng isang prestigious beauty pageant here. Ang swerte ko talaga sa girlfriend ko. Mabait na, Maganda pa.

Kinabukasan

I arrived at Mactan International Airport 1 hour and 30 minutes before the departure time. I’m so excited to meet my bestfriend na di ko nakasama for 8 years na. On those 8 years, palagi kaming nagcommunicate through email at mi isang picture niya, wala man lang siyang sinend sa akin. I was wondering kung ano na kanya hitsura niya ngayon. Malamang, he’s still the hottest guy and pinakagwapong bestfriend na nakilala ko noon (nababakla na tuloy ako). Nakaidlip ako sa bench sa may waiting area kakahintay.

Excuse me!, sabi ng babae sabay tapik sa aking pisngi.

Ano ba? Distorbo oh!, si Edrian na nainis sa paggising sa kanya.

Napatawa na lang ang babae. Are you Mr. Edrian Villapez?, tanong ng di kilalang babae.

The girl who is standing in front of Edrian is very sexy and beautiful. Morena and looks like a model, tantiya na ay nasa 24 years old na ito and the height is 5’9”. And what caught his attention is the curves, coca-cola body. He was staring on the beautiful lady nang tumikhim ito.

Ehem!, Edrian?, tanong ng babae.

I’m sorry miss? Do i know you?, si Edrian. Ikaw ba ang girlfriend ni Cypress? Nasan na siya? Nasa restroom ba siya?, dagdag ni Edrian.

Napasmile ang babae. Di mo na ba ako kilala ngayon Edrian? este bro?

O_O Oh my gosh!, si Edrian na nashock at napatili.
